ARE’s community engagement workshops are individually designed to meet your needs using our strengths.  We have the resources to share a broad range of dance and/or music experiences with your students; whether it is straight ballet, contemporary dance, hip hop, tap, a collage of all of these or learning to listen, play and make music.  We offer a range of technique, repertoire, and creative dance.   Classes generally range from 45 minutes (minimum) to 3 hours (maximum) depending on your goals and the age and ability of the students.

Mozart’s Hair

Hip Hop to Mozart!?!  This year David Justin has been commissioned by the Austin Symphony Orchestra to create a short work for the Young Peoples Concert Series.  In this class students receive a warm up, learn choreography and give a presentation at the end of the session.  Combine the pioneering power of Mozart and the newest moves in the hip hop dance scene and you have one rockin’ choreography.  Deliverable in 45 to 60 minutes sessions. Accent-you-ate the Positive / E-Limb-innate the Negative

This is a creative dance class built on principles of improvisation.  Using techniques and experiences learned through a lifetime of dance, students explore positive and negative space, creative construction of shapes in space with their body, and working with a partner to share space.  Deliverable in 45 to 60 minutes sessions.
